- It is an offshoot of the waterfall model which is not in vogue.
- Ignores the fact that software is developed in a series of modules, where each module changes the behavior of the previous module.
- Relies on the existence, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of development documentation.
- Asserts a test is designed from a single document, without being modified by later or earlier documents.
- Asserts that tests derived from a single document are all executed together

- Robust design with “multi document input” - inputs taken from SRS, SRAS as well as the Design document ensuring on time project delivery.
- Risk based testing to ensure that risks are analyzed and appropriate mitigation activities are followed
